Halloween Schism
Once again the CofM team have been invited to do the second room of Schism Rock Club. We once again invite you to join us for the dark delights of a Schism Halloween, as we present a night steeped in darkness, decadence and disorder. Across two rooms, we'll be serving a soundtrack of rock and alternative music to satisfy metalheads, punks, goths and every wonderful misfit soul in between. THE RED ROOM • Hosted by SCHISM ROCK CLUB - METAL - ROCK - POP PUNK - SKA - DRUM & BASS THE BLUE ROOM • Hosted by CHURCH OF MADNESS GOTH - SYNTH - INDUSTRIAL - EBM Upon entry, you'll have the chance to take part in our annual Trick or Treat Goodie Bags, each packed with sweets, curiosities and the possibility of uncovering one of many hidden prizes. Church of Madness has been dragging Reading into the dark since 1999. Born in the dingiest of pubs, the night has shapeshifted across venues and decades... but the spirit has never wavered. Since the early 2000s, residents Simon and Endtransmission have been the beating black heart of CofM, keeping the faith through every incarnation. In more recent years CharlieOctoGirl has joined the team to bring her years of experience running clubs and events elsewhere
Expect goth, industrial, darkwave, EBM, and everything that lurks in the shadows between... or around. Vaguely. We're proudly tied to the Beat:Cancer charity because community matters as much as the music.

Reading sits as a main hub to trains from all over the place. It's easy to get to us from London via the Paddington, Waterloo or Elisabeth lines; from the south coast via Basingstoke or from the East and North on the main line to Paddington.

Nearest car park is the secure Q-Park on Chatham Street and is open 24/7. If you are staying in the Penta hotel, you can get a discount on the parking.
